As in recent years, although not team scored, the Londonderry Invitational had an abundance of great performances launching us into the championship season!  Beginning with the girls Central’s Katya Levasseur had herself a day with winning the 100 (12.53) and Long Jump (17’7″) and placing second int the Triple Jump (35’2″).  South’s Crismeily Borg may have finished second to Lavasseur in the 100, but she took home first place in the 200 in 26.13.  Leb’s Corinne Kennedy took home the 800 in 2:09.97 joining Leya Salis and Kristie Schoffield in the sub-2:10 club!

Milford’s Rebecca Durham had a symmetrical day if you will, sweeping both the 1600 and 3200 in 5:00.90 and 11:00.28.   Pinkerton’s Maria Virga was another double winner as she swept the hurdle events in 15.38 and 46.13.  The highlight of the relays had to be Souhegan, which crushed the 4×800 in 9:18.31.

Merrimack Invitational-255Leb’s Kath Merchant took two-thirds of the throws winning both the Shot (37’6.25″) and the Javelin (124’5″), but was upset by Milford’s fabulous frosh, Robyn Krafft in the Discus (118’7″).

On the boys side, one of the highlights had to be Keene’s Scott Rathbun inching ever-so-closer to the state pole vault record, launching himself over 15’3″.  North’s Jordan Buckmire won the Triple Jump with a leap of 44’8.5″, but was out-dueled in the Long Jump by Leb’s super soph Ryan Sullivan (20’8.5″).  Highlight of the throws had to be Pinkerton’s Colin Bigelow’s chuck of 171’09.5″ in the Javelin, but Lebanon’s Marcus Roper certainly was noticed as he tossed the shot 49’5.75″.

Shifting to the track, the 400 saw two dip into the 49s as Pinkerton’s Noah Woodman won in 49.21 over Bedford’s Mike Giraldi (49.69), who took home the 200 in 22.46.  Alvirne’s Noah Bellomo popped a 1:55.67 in the 800 FTW, and Keene’s Jonathan Allard threw down a 4:21.75 to win the 1600.

Pinkerton’s Spencer Adam was the only double winner on the boys side as he claimed both hurdle titles in 15.21 and 40.44.
